Steve Hearst discusses conservation of the 83,000-acre Hearst Ranch, forever protected with a perpetual conservation easement held by the California Rangeland Trust. The Hearst Ranches consist of two properties on California’s Central Coast – the Hearst Ranch in San Simeon and the 73,000-acre Jack Ranch in Cholame. Also addressed in this video is the Hearst Ranches’ grass-fed beef operation – which provides more than 1,000 head of grass-fed-and-finished cattle each year to Whole Foods Market, and the 280-megawatt California Flats solar project on the Jack Ranch.
